About Champions
for Good

From the Best Practice Awards of 1999 to the Champions for Good of today — a 25-year journey of recognising and strengthening Hong Kong's social services sector.

Our Mission

Why the Awards Matter

Hong Kong's social services sector serves over 1.2 million people annually across elderly care, child development, mental health, disability services, and more. Yet the sector's impact often goes unrecognised beyond the communities it serves.

The Champions for Good Awards change that. By shining a spotlight on exceptional organisations and individuals, we achieve three goals:

  • 🌱

Inspire peer learning — shortlisted nominees share their approaches at sector events, spreading innovation sector-wide.

  • 🤝

Build connections — the awards process forges new partnerships between NGOs, funders, and businesses.

  • 📣

Amplify impact — award recognition opens doors to funding, media attention, and policy influence.

The Ecosystem

Strengthening Social Enterprise in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's social service sector is increasingly entrepreneurial. NGOs are developing social enterprises, forging corporate partnerships, and adopting impact measurement frameworks — not just to sustain funding, but to maximise the social value they create.

Champions for Good sits at the intersection of the traditional NGO sector and the emerging social enterprise ecosystem. The awards celebrate organisations that operate with a social enterprise mindset: innovative, sustainable, collaborative, and relentlessly focused on outcomes.
